Quanzhou held a symposium on industrial chain cooperation and promotion between Sinochem Energy and Quanzhou enterprises on June 26 to implement the Municipal Party Committee's project known as “Strengthening the Industry and Rejuvenating the City” and deepen the industrial chain cooperation between upstream and downstream enterprises in Quanzhou petrochemical, textile shoes, and clothing, new materials.
Xiao Hanhui, Chairman of the Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and Leader of the Development Group of the Municipal Petrochemical, New Materials, and New Energy Industries, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Lai Qingzheng, Deputy Director of the Standing Committee of the Municipal People's Congress, presided over the meeting.
At the meeting, Sinochem Energy introduced the "14th Five-Year Plan" industrial plan of the Sinochem Quanzhou Base; Qingyuan Innovation Laboratory introduced the construction of the laboratory and the progress of industry-university-research cooperation, and the School of Chemical Engineering of Quanzhou Normal University reported on the development and application technology of high-performance shoe materials and new polyolefin materials.
Xiao Hanhui stated that the petrochemical industry is of great significance to Quanzhou's economic development. During the 14th Five-Year Plan period, Quanzhou will create a two trillion-level industrial cluster built around petrochemical-textile, clothing, and footwear. The symposium invited nearly 30 key upstream and downstream petrochemical enterprises, such as Anta, Baihong, Silan, and scientific research institutions, with the aim to build a platform for in-depth exchanges and cooperation in the industrial chain, which will serve as a solid start for the integration and link of multi-party advantageous resources. In the future, various exchange activities will be held in more segmented fields according to actual needs so as to promote the extension and union, mutual benefit, and prosperity of the upstream and downstream of the petrochemical industry chain in Quanzhou.
Mr. Xiao called upon people in the industry to seize the favorable opportunity of this window for petrochemical project construction, accelerate the implementation of major projects under the 14th Five-Year Plan, leverage the advantages of central enterprises, encourage enterprises to take the initiative to participate in project investments to extend the industrial chain, achieve upstream and downstream synergy, and create a more competitive industrial cluster. Furthermore, he noted that there should be strong support for participation in industry-university-research cooperation. Enterprises should promote the transformation and industrialization of scientific and technological achievements, focus on the introduction and training of petrochemical talent, and provide fundamental support for the development and growth of the petrochemical industry chain.
