On September 19-20, 2019, Mr. Jiang Zhenghong, Vice President of Sinochem Group and President of Sinochem Energy, went to Hangzhou City to attend the 10th China Petroleum & Chemical International Conference (CPCIC), which was organized by China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation, United Nations Environment Programme, International Council of Chemical Associations and the Economy and Information Technology Department of Zhejiang. Focusing on the theme of “Empowering High-quality Development”, the conference was held to discuss the opportunities and challenges of cross-border cooperation in the world’s petrochemical industry, petrochemical industry planning and international market trends, investment hotspots in China’s petrochemical industry, and high-quality development in the petrochemical industry, and other issues.
Mr. Jiang Zhenghong was invited to make a keynote speech entitled “Sustainable Development: Guiding the Future Development of the Petrochemical Industry” at the CEO Roundtable. He analyzed the development situation, development trend, industry support and other aspects of China’s refining and chemical industry, and pointed out that, China has a serious structural surplus of refining capacity, and the integrated, large-scale and cluster development of refining and chemical industry has become an inevitable trend. We should attach great importance to technology innovation to support the high-quality development of the petrochemical industry. In addition, he explained the overall strategic layout of Sinochem Group in the refining and chemical field.
Later, Mr. Jiang Zhenghong met with Anwar A. Al-Hejazi, President of Saudi Aramco Asia. The two parties reviewed the past cooperation and discussed the intention of establishing strategic joint venture and cooperation in the future. They were accompanied by Vice President of Sinochem Energy Zhang Qiang and Deputy General Manager of the Innovation and Strategy Department Luo Hongjing during the meeting.
At the conference, Mr. Jiang Zhenghong met with Gao Xingfu, Vice Governor of Zhejiang Province, and Gu Xiulian, former Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress.
