From January 22-23, 2019, Sinochem Energy held the 2019 Annual Conference & Technology Innovation Conference to objectively summarize its achievements in 2018 and make overall work arrangements for the year of 2019. The leaders of the company and key management of subordinate companies attended the conference. Meanwhile, relevant leaders of functional departments of Sinochem Group were also invited to attend the conference. Mr. Jiang Zhenghong, Vice President of Sinochem Group and President of Sinochem Energy, hosted the conference.

The conference was held to thoroughly study and implement Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and the spirit of the 19th CPC National Congress; thoroughly understand the great significance of the 40th anniversary of China’s reform and opening-up, conscientiously implement the Sinochem Group’s strategic planning guidelines and work arrangements for 2019, adhere to the core values of “In Science We Trust and the Unity of Knowledge and Action”, and strive to achieve of the goal of becoming the best energy company in China. In the conference, Zhong Ren, Vice President of Sinochem Group and Vice President of Sinochem Energy, conveyed the spirit of the annual conference of Sinochem Group; Li Xin, Vice President of Sinochem Energy, delivered the report on the implementation of Sinochem Energy’s strategies, and CFO Zhang Airong delivered the operation analysis report, they thoroughly reviewed the implementation of strategies and operation of the company in 2018, and made overall arrangements for the development of 2019. Zhang Qiang, Vice President and CTO of Sinochem Energy, delivered a detailed report on the scientific and technological innovations of the company.

In 2018, Sinochem Energy adhered to the concept of “In Science We Trust”, took “management + technology” as driving forces, focused on key strategic issues such as the construction of the ethylene project, improving corporate governance structure, transformation of energy Internet, continuously improved management system and mechanism, deepened reform and continued to transform, and made good achievements in the Party construction, discipline inspection and supervision. In addition, the First Technology Innovation Conference was held with this annual conference. The conference emphasized again that we should build a technology-driven innovative petrochemical enterprise, and continuously implement the concept of “In Science We Trust” into all aspects of the company’s production and operation.

Mr. Jiang Zhenghong spoke highly of the company’s active exploration in implementing strategies, expanding businesses, reform and innovation in the past year. He stressed that Sinochem Energy will embrace strategic opportunities in the next 3-5 years. In the face of the complicated internal and external environment and fierce market competition, the company should strengthen industrial coordination, accelerate innovations in development mode; promote the transformation of traditional businesses, constantly deepen reform, and vigorously promote scientific and technological innovation. Mr. Jiang Zhenghong pointed out that the company should focus on the core tasks, such as the construction of Quanhui Petrochemical Park, the construction and intermediate handover of the ethylene project, the implementation of HSE work, and ensuring the completion of operation objectives; further strengthen team building, enhance the sense of responsibility and mission, and the ability of coordination, work hard and forge ahead, in order to build Sinochem Energy into a technology-driven innovative petrochemical enterprise.
